A quick message about your subscription

Hello premium readers!

First of all, I’d like to thank you so much for your support over the years. This project first began as Rodrigo Duterte geared up for his presidential run, and now we discuss his International Criminal Court case. We’ve watched Yingluck Shinawatra flee town and now her return seems on the cards under her niece, Paetongtarn Shinawatra. A lot of years! 

This is not ending, it’s just changing a bit. I’ve been tossing up returning to Substack after a year here on Beehiiv. It’s a tricky process to go back, but this platform has been a serious disappointment. I’ll be taking the next fortnight off while I get that done. 

You don’t need to do anything but you may get a few automated emails. I’ll be closing off subscriptions from here. For monthly subscribers and any annual subscriptions made last year, you will be gifted a free one-year premium subscription via Substack. Readers who have made an annual payment this year will be gifted two years. 

This is, in part, in recognition that the last few months have been tough for me and this project hasn’t been as high a priority as I like it to be. But it’s also because when I relaunch over there I will be cutting the price quite a bit. The main motivation here is that if and when I do experience these busy periods when other parts of life take over, I don’t have to add self-flagellation over my newsletter to the to-do list.
